Quotation Terms and Conditions for SOC Booking

  1. Definitions

    "Octovoy Shipping" refers to Octovoy Shipping FZCO, a company incorporated under the laws of the UAE.

    "Customer" refers to the party making the booking request for Shipper-Owned Containers (SOC).

    "SOC" refers to Shipper-Owned Container(s), where the container is owned or leased by the customer, not the shipping line.

    "Carrier" refers to the shipping line or vessel operator contracted to move the cargo.

    "Booking" refers to the confirmation of container space on a vessel for the transportation of cargo.

  2. Validity of Quotation

    The rates are valid for 7 days from issuance. Octovoy Shipping reserves the right to update or withdraw the offer after this period.

  3. Booking Confirmation

    Bookings are confirmed only after receipt of written acceptance from Octovoy Shipping. Required details include container number, type, commodity, weight, and preferred sailing date.

  4. Freight Charges & Payment Terms

    Payment must be made within 7 days of invoice date or before vessel departure. Late payments incur a 2% monthly fee.

  5. Space & Equipment Availability

    Space is subject to vessel capacity. Equipment availability is the customer’s responsibility.

  6. Container Condition & Cargo Acceptance

    Containers must be seaworthy, clean, and defect-free. Octovoy Shipping reserves the right to reject defective containers.

  7. Cancellation, No-Show & Amendment Fees

    Cancellation fee: $100 per container if canceled within 3 days of departure. No-show fee: $150 per container. Amendment fee: $50 per change.

  8. Cargo Weight & Misdeclaration

    Overweight or misdeclared cargo may result in fines, penalties, or refusal of loading.

  9. Demurrage, Detention & Storage

    The customer is responsible for demurrage, detention, and storage charges incurred at origin, transshipment, or destination.

  10. Force Majeure

    Octovoy Shipping is not liable for delays caused by natural disasters, war, strikes, pandemics, or other uncontrollable events.

  11. Insurance

    Cargo insurance is the customer’s responsibility. Octovoy Shipping can assist with insurance upon request.

  12. Limitation of Liability

    Octovoy Shipping shall not be held liable for any damage to cargo once it is in the possession, custody, or control of the carrier or port authorities. Additionally, Octovoy Shipping is not responsible for any delays caused by the carrier, port omissions, or loss of containers while in transit or under the carrier's control.

  13. Claims & Dispute Resolution

    Claims must be submitted within 14 days of delivery. Disputes are resolved via arbitration under DIFC rules, with English as the governing language.

  14. Confidentiality

    The terms of this quotation are confidential and must not be shared with third parties.
